Friday Special: Summer 2022

Welcome to another Friday Special! I’ve been trying to decide what to do about my website this summer, so I thought I’d put it all in a post. It'll be a short one, but it's worth doing an update on here as well as on Instagram.

I’ve been putting out six posts a month for over a year, and that takes a considerable amount of time. I do love it though, and blogging has been a valuable pastime during the past two years. As we approach the summer, I’ve decided that I’d like to take a short break to reset, plan new ideas and enjoy my summer away from my website. I’ll still be posting on Instagram though, and I’ll be regularly showing what I’ve been getting up to.

Dan and I are moving in together this summer, and I really want to dedicate some time to getting everything sorted out and just existing in the same space. I’m sure that this will inspire some great blog content for the future, I just don’t want to write about it right now. My PhD carries on through the summer too, and I want to spend some time in archives and doing lots of research. I don’t want to cram my plate too full, and I did struggle last summer with getting everything done on top of working full time. Admittedly, I was working a minimum wage summer job (and do I have some stories to tell about that), but I still don’t want to overload my schedule.

Therefore, I’ve decided that this blog will be my last until September, where I will resume my regular posting schedule. This will give me plenty of time to write some great content without feeling overworked, and I’m honestly excited to go out and find some more inspiration. I’ll leave a note on my website to say where I’ve gone, but don’t worry, I will be back!

I’ll be working on my website a little over the summer. I want to make a few layout changes and add a few more tabs. I’ll talk about that more over on my Instagram @tibbotttalks_study if you’re not already following.

Finally, before I go off on my “holiday”, I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has read and engaged with my content either here on my site or over on Instagram. I’ve really enjoyed where this journey has taken me, especially now I’m doing my PhD, which was a big (but tentative) dream for several years. I can’t wait to be back with lots of fresh content for you all, but know that my site will remain active and available, so feel free to catch up on anything you’ve missed.

Have a fantastic summer, and see you all in September!

Happy studying!
